I have several WW2 photos of some Japanese sailors and a samurai school.
On the back of two photos is this Japanese writing
Could someone please translate it into English please

I reckon this is from the 20th century, and depicts some acting club.
Swords out and stabbed in the ground is... a good way to ruin swords.
 
I, too, think it's costume for a festival or something. The swords look like fake swords, and there are girls there.
