Not sure if this is the right place for this, but here goes.
There are plenty of threads or comments made about Japanese TV and how good or (mostly)bad it is, but what about the radio stations? Are any of them national and if so are they any good?. What are the local stations like? Do they cover a wide range of music? I ask this because as a driver I spend more time listening to the radio than watching TV. I feel that in the UK we do have a good range of national stations provided by the BBC, which means no adverts. I have been to various other countries and found some of them wanting, others just plain shite. Georgia (the state, not the country) was one of the worst. All I seemed to get were God channels and country music channels (I loath country music)

two-three years ago i found a web site listing many japanese radio stations (mostly in big cities). seemed as bad as radio in America. everybody had the same exact format, playing the same 40 songs (asian pop, country stations, soft-rock station, classic rock station, asian pop, asian pop, asian pop..................asian pop).

it was just a feeling i got from looking at this.

now mind you, i was going from one web site that listed many stations. maybe they were just picking the large "Conglomerate Big Incorporated Company" radio stations. the ones that have an exact formula for the station.
