I ran across this video recently looking for music to record:

You can see the influence of kyudo in the outfits and even the dancing. And artfully done and hats off to Kate Bush. I love the song, and although I am not much of an art or dance fan, this is nice to watch.

Anyway that got me to thinking about how Japanese culture has influenced Western musicians and I wondered if any of you had other examples.

I am guessing there is a Japanese influence here. As much as there is some stuff from Bjork I really like, someone should get a prize if they can watch this to the end!

I think it is passable. Its corny, but with saving graces such as tempo and being catchy in itself rather than being a pure "hype a fad" thing.

One person that immediately comes to mind is David Bowie, particularly his Ziggy Stardust character. He was influenced by Japanese style, fashion, art, dance and music.
This is a live video of Ziggy Stardust ..... " Screwed up eyes and screwed down hairdo / like some cat from Japan".

And an exhibition I would have loved to have seen.

For David Bowie, Japanese style was more than just fashion | The Japan Times

That really set off my homophobia Havard.

But where others would blame you and attack you, I recognize this is my own problem.

But I will say that still made me feel pretty icky.

Yet, it was pertinent and on topic, so thumbs up!
