A friend of mine recently came into the possession of this flag brought back by a Marine who fought on Bougainville, Guam and Iwo Jima.

Any help with the translations would be appreciated!

Mostly just signatures of people, plus a few patriotic slogans just as above. 忠誠 (loyalty) 尽忠報国 (give your all for your country) しかれやれ (do your best - slight spelling error, this should be しっかりやれ) 一心同体 (one mind, one body) 至誠奉公 (loyalty to country) etc.
All of these phrases were meant to give encouragement to the soldier as he goes off to war.

Oops, I made an error myself. The flag has しかりやれ written on it, but I think it should be しかりやれ, but the former may have been an acceptable spelling 80 years ago.
