Japanese and Western intermarriages

My husband is on call. It's like being married to a doctor. If a machine breaks or something goes wrong during the second shift at work, he is expected to go there and fix it, whether it's 8 pm or 12 am. I will say that it's better since the children were born. Before my first son was born, he would stay at work until after midnight, working 16-18 hours per day. That was kind of traumatic for a newlywed(and pregnant) me.
