Back when I was teen-ager (about the time fire was invented...) I had a crazy friend who had forked out all his hardearned savings from his summer job to buy a spiffy new metal detector. He was certain he could use the thing to earn himself a fortune and convinced me to help him (hey, I was gullible at the time... blame it on "Goonies").
We set out deep into the treacherous wilds of northern Michigan, home to rabid squirrels and feral fauna of all shapes and sizes (well... most are pretty small and harmless but whatever). Searching for clues we eventually found the tiniest of audibles... "ping"... "ping"... Needless to say, we set ourselves to digging frantically, our fevered pace spurred by visions of hidden treasure. Two hours later... we found a rusted Campbell's soup can. Thus ended my short-lived career as a booty hunter (err...).
