Just a quick shout-out to those fascinated by celestial phenomena: the Geminids, one of the three major annual meteor showers, will peak around 10 p.m. on 14 December and continue to fall until dawn on 15 December. Stargazers are advised to observe them tonight because the moon will gradually rise, and the moonlight in the morning hours could make the meteors more challenging to see.

Our 'meteor' showers tonight and for the coming days: little ice pellets mixed with rain.

(not from the Kuiper belt, just a big/strong low pressure way up there)

Wish I could see the real thing instead of the local substitute!

Ah, shucks. Lovely day here in Kanto today. Fourteen degrees and sunny and finally some time to cycle! Will drag furball no. 1 out for his evening さんぽ looking for the Geminids.
