Japan Photos 2023

Playing inside on a rainy day...

I've taken a bunch of these, kind of searching for the 'perfect' daikon. (phone pic)

Usually I am just thinking of one, front and center and fill/balance the frame, but I like this one which has another good daikon to the right.

I'm the secretary of a Wales/Japan friendship society. Yesterday I attended the Remembrance Sunday ceremony at the Commonwealth War Cemetery in Hodogaya, Yokohama, where I unofficially represented Wales by laying a wreath.

Tried to go out, but it started raining again almost immediately...

But then driving, ended up taking some rindo-like roads that were pretty marginal to drive on--literally one narrow lane, twisting switchbacks, covered in leaves, always a nice steep falloff on one side... The kind of road that it'd be nice to turn around, but there was never a place to do that, just hope that going forward/onward is somehow less worse than trying to go back and find another way.

So marginal roads, and marginal pics:

Out for a walk. Purple ones are a neighbor's flowers. (all iPhone)

First of these is okay, I like the second better.

And maybe one more.

Out for a walk this morning:

And this is from an exhibit. There might have been 100+ big prints, I liked this one the best--and left it bigger so you can see the details, and photog's name/titling info.

One of our neighbours is a "choirmaster of an amateur chorus" (his words). Last week, he invited us to a Beethoven soiree. Little did we know that his chorus comprised over 260 members. Beethoven's Ninth was bombastic!

I need to post my photos before the year runs out! Though I guess technically I can still post 2023 photos here even after the new year.

In case you're still looking for Christmas presents consider Pokémon briefs for that special someone in your life.

And today:

Great photos, @johnnyG! I guess the bike's in the garage.

Thanks, @thomas and no biking these days--had a snow storm maybe a week ago, so some shoveling, but it's almost gone now. I'm hoping 2024 will have more pedaling.

Same as above, abracadabra'd into B&W:
