OK serious answer here...I have been driving automobiles for over 25 years now. I got my first license in the US (left-side) and now drive in Japan (right side), I am right handed.
I was rasied in a country where the stick is on the right side.(USA) So I had to learn it that way. Im a left handed person and it's so easy!

OK, now stay with me here, I think it's because the majority of homebuilders are right-handed. A right-handed person's natural instinct is to turn to the right when intalling something on a wall, if the choice is turn right or left. Simply saying I saw it in an article and then claiming it as absolute proof is not good enough.
