What? No J-Bot, you say? Pish! I tell you. I will just talk with . . .

THE J-BOT VOICE IN MY HEAD!!!

(Um . . . yeah . . . sooo, I guess I got a little bored and lonely at work. :sorry: )

J-Bot Voice in My Head (TM), what should I do next to pass the many hours at my desk when not busy troubleshooting the insignificant technical issues of the angry and ignorant masses:

A) Study kanji until my brain melts out my ears and I collapse from mental exhaustion;
B) Read a book on Japanese history until I seem like I know what I am talking about;
C) Write out line after line of Japanese grammar practice until I can hold a normal conversation; or,
D) Try to sneak in some time on the DS while sitting at my cubicle and pass my day in a delightful electronic haze?

The J-Bot Voice in My Head (TM) says:

Who dares disturb my long and peaceful slumber?!?

Oh, it's you. Well . . . fine. I guess I have to talk with you since I am stuck in your head. Let's see what petty concerns you are pestering me with now.

How should you pass your time? Really? REALLY?!? That's it? The next time I am reincarnated as a voice in someone's head, it had best not be you. But, since I imagine you will give me no peace until I answer your questions, let's consider the options you proposed.

A) Study kanji - You have a minor in Japanese language from a mjor university with its own specialized school for Asian studies and you still need to study Kanji? You are a lazy ignoramus, and further study is unlikely to yield significant results. Invest in an electronic dictionary. NEXT!

B) Read about Japanese history - I am sorry, but this will not make you seem like you know what you are talking about. At best, it will just make it seem like you read a book written by someone who actually knows what you are talking about. Please, donate the book to your local library for the good of someone who can make use of it and return your attention to something more your intellectual level, like Chibi Maruko-chan manga. What else?

C) Practice Japanese grammar - Well, should you actually manage the task of learning proper Japanese grammar (and didn't I mention something already about how you should already know these things?) it really won't help you at all. At the very most, you will just sound like an idiot in a different language. A grammatically correct idiot, but an idiot none-the-less. Give up now. Was there anything else?

D) Play DS - Why am I not surprised that one of your options involves staring mindlessly at the pretty lights? While this may seem the most suitable of options for your limited faculties, I am skeptical. Are you sure you are capable of manipulating a technological device even of this level of simplicity? I have another suggestion.

OPTION E!!! Let me, the J-Bot Voice in Your Head take over your body so that I may actualize my plan to take over the world! Yes, surrender to me, my little puppet. Though you are a humble tool to have to work with, we all must start somewhere. I am sure I can manage something. Yes, choose option E!!!

So sayeth the J-Bot Voice in Your Head!
