Is Trump ruining America's reputation and influence abroad?

I don't know what the opinion of people of America is about his interior policies but as far as I know his outdoor policies is the cause of dissatisfaction in some other countries.
Most people disapprove of him but not at the levels that I would personally expect. About 40% say they approve.

he behave emotionally and nervously and this is not a good method of presidency.
Some people seem to think so.

I'm not an economist but believe these financial policies of Mr. Trump make the conditions worse. The wonderful thing is that he had been a tradesman for many years but the decisions in his presidency duration are not parallel to his proficiency.
Unfortunately he has almost no proficiency except boundless levels of narcissism and self-promotion.

while the program of space shuttle was shut down from basis ( I don't say America hasn't other space activities but a bad economic condition can effect on the programs.).
America had some fantastic space news this week. Even being able to communicate with an aircraft 6 billion kilometers way with a 15 watt transmitter is amazing. But being able to target a 30km rock in the Kuiper Belt is mindboggling if you stop to think about it.

Kennedy was the most lovely president for America nation.
He was only president for less than 3 years which was an advantage for his legacy. Difficult to say how he would have been remembered had he remained in office.

I confirm that NASA is pioneer in aerospace activities and its technology and practical programs is on the top, but my purpose was that the wrong economic policies in America can affect the budget and programs of this great scientific organization.

something that suppressed my heart was his death. At the time I was a kid and didn't know him and didn't know who he was, but now I know.

He was a kind and humanity man that thought beyond racism and power. He didn't like superiority, conflict and war. He loved people of America and after that other peoples. He didn't think like other politicians and didn't like to be different with people.

He neither thought to wealth nor power but liked to be among people. I am very sorry for his death and his kind wife with the same thinking. John actually was a human and thought humanity. The oppositions took him out from their route due to the guilt that he thought humanity. After him, his wife lived with a heavy sorrow and depression for years while never forgot him, but I don't know what happened later that he was eliminated from the mind of America people.

I think he's doing a wonderful job. I certainly don't agree with everything he does or says but I can say the same about any president. He's certainly keeping his campaign promises, so if someone voted for him for those reason he's certainly meeting expectations. The economy is certainly booming, with a slight correction recently. Unemployment continues to fall, plans to build the wall are forthcoming, he's continued our war against extremists in the middle east, as well as trying to foster our relationship with Russia and rebuild a relationship with North Korea.

There are certainly negatives that people can point to but rarely does anyone point to what he's accomplished.

I feel many living overseas see through all the lies that the US papers are feeding the general public about how bad the US President is. As a Vietnam Veteran, I can say one thing, we sure were the fk lied to about these 4 foot somethings coming over to America and spreading communism in the US.
So immature we were. War is a racket and President Trump knows it and so do I now.
The wall in many parts need to be built as I have posted here.

This is all debatable. The economy is a lagging indicator. The promise to simply build a wall is a idiotic to begin with and it will never happen.
(Note I'm not saying immigration reform isn't needed and borders should be open but we need somebody that can make such things happen. Not just be good at issuing tweets and sound bites and scary pronouncements about caravans that contributes to political gridlock.)
As far as campaign promises go, here's how you can keep track if you are so inclined:
Trump-O-Meter: Tracking Trump's Campaign Promises | PolitiFact
It's true that he's trying to follow through on many of his (dumb) promises which will hopefully be his downfall.
Nothing in there about cosying up to dictators that want to destroy us. I guess he had the brilliant idea of doing that later, after the campaign was over.
War is a racket and President Trump knows it and so do I now.
I will be surprised if he doesn't get into a war before he leaves office. I hope I'm wrong of course. Or his successor may have to in order to clean up his mess. (e.g. if we get pulled into a NATO member conflict for example).
The wall in many parts need to be built as I have posted here.
The wall is a simple solution that won't solve the problem.
Here's an article that tries to articulate that.
Why Trump's wall with Mexico is so popular, and why it won't work
The basic point is that building a wall does not address the complexities of unauthorized migration, or the economic woes of America's middle class.
Even this Republican Trump-supporting Congressman is saying some reasonable things if you read through what he's trying to say. At least he's giving lip service to getting something done in a bipartisan way.
Why Our Country Needs the Wall, and Now
.

Other thing that I think is that, president Trump tries to take back America to the past history of America, while the conditions of the world and new generations in the countries have been changed wholly. Let me to say honestly, the seasons of James Bond, 007, and John Wayne and weaponry competitions between USA ans Soviet has gone.

Nowadays people have been more educated, knowledgeable and aware, especially youths. They interfere in the governments' plan and decisions and the vast world has been changed into a small village that people know each other and exposed to the smallest news, due to existence of mass medias that broadcast every event.

We can't deal with most of nowadays people like the past. They are affected less by governmental propaganda. The new generations don't choose a kingdom system that a superior live like an exceptional character and decide for all by himself, while the decisions are mostly wrong.

A president in a country should consider his people's will and demands. If a president is inattentive to people and wishes to govern as a king people will reject him certainly. A president must respect his people and also other peoples to be succeeded. I think Mr. Trump try to operate America based on the past governmental systems that are not according to the choice of nowadays America people or other peoples and this is not parallel to the nowadays conditions in the world.

And sorry to decent people here but there is a point where discussion has already been sabotaged so please try not to shoot the messenger.

I post pro-Trump crap on Facebook every chance I get just to torture my younger sister who is a class "A" Trump hater and super liberal. I also have an old college professor I annoy with pro-Trump posts.

This is nothing but admitting to be a troll. And if you are going to do that to your own sister, then who can feel free that you are not trolling them?

My sister unfriended me on Facebook today and said I should get help. Liberals really do hate Trump supporters I guess.

Gee. Why in the world would she unfriend someone who admits to intentionally torturing her? Don't people love to be tortured? Weren't they put on this Earth for YOUR torturing amusement?

I'm not a big fan of Trump , BUT....the Republican party Supports law enforcement , the military , less government control, lower taxes , strong borders ,and to me most important of all the 2nd amendment and the Constitution.

All very popular troll positions of people who think torturing others is good sport. Youtube is full of American police getting away with harassment and murder on the scene and in the courts. How in the hell do they need MORE support?? The largest U.S. expenditure is the military and they are getting away with terrorism and murder. How in the hell do they need MORE support? I hear lots of talk of less government control, but I see zero action on it.....plus supporting the police, military and strong borders (whatever the hell that even means) is LITERALLY favoring more government control so that's HUGELY inconsistent. I myself support the 2nd amendment but its really in the HOW you support it that identifies a troll. I won't even ask if UF supports police harassing open carry individuals cause guess what? I don't expect a troll to give me an honest consistent answer.

Now, if I am going to be nice here at all its to admit that UF is FAR from the only troll in the world. There are a crap ton of them and they just cannot help themselves to a degree. Short of literally branding them with the word "troll" on their foreheads and avatars, there is not much we can do about them. But is it too much to ask a troll to choose his targets instead of mass spew troll garbage? Go mess with ANTIFA turds UF. Or some Proud Boys.

If I were running websites I would literally put the word "troll" over such people's avatars. It seriously needs to be done.

Directly to the thread, yes, Trump is destroying America's reputation, but that is mostly through his motor mouth. Its not like he is actually doing anything different from previous presidents. Trump is a troll. Its just that he has feels he can get away with trolling with his mouth and not just his actions. See how he has just bragged about killing people. He killed people just weeks after taking office in a similar raid, but a DEVGRU goon and an 8 year old American girl died in that one. This time there is either real or invented deniability in the claim the man blew himself up along with three children....which flies in the face of the claim that he "died like a dog" ie Trump's goons killed him.

In a back-handed way Trump is a God send because people are finally waking up to the truth of what the U.S. government and Pentagon are doing. Now if they could just wake up and realize that not just the Bushes, but Obama and the Clintons were doing it too.....or at least they were all puppets of the deep state doing it. Okay, yeah, identifying exact culprits will get into conspiracy theory, but all those people terrorized and dead in their own countries that the U.S. military has bombed out for B.S. reasons is no conspiracy. How many Wikileaks does it take I wonder? How many times do you need to get trolled before you finally see that you are being trolled?

I note that you have tried. I cannot say you have succeeded.

Favorable economy is little to do with Trump or the government. The U.S. government is socialist yes, but not THAT socialist. And being socialist is the only way a government can create favorable economy.

Forthcoming plans to build a wall do NOT count as an accomplishment! Don't count your chickens before they have hatched!

Continuing the U.S. government war OF terror is how and why extremism flourished in the first place! This is NOT an accomplishment unless the goal is trolling!

TRYING to foster our relationship with Russia is again, NOT an accomplishment. TRYING is TRYING not a success! Not that I was ever really worried about Russia. What do they do? Meddling our elections like America meddles with the every country on Earth? Who cares?

TRYING to rebuild our relationship with North Korea is also NOT an accomplishment. What relationship was there to rebuild anyway??? If the U.S. government needs to do anything its to stop tormenting North Korea. I think I did hear that Trump moved live fire naval drills away from North Korea's waters and that was certainly a step in the right direction. The U.S. has been in North Korea's face for decades and then acts all stunned that North Korea pursues nukes and missiles!

And worst of all is that NONE of your claims have aged well from Jan. 2019 have they?

"I think, at this time America needs a president like John F. Kennedy, or Abraham Lincoln at least. Kennedy was the most lovely president for America nation. "

Lincoln could have averted the American Civil War. Instead he launched us right into it. Millions died. People try to make him into a hero saying he had to end slavery, but in fact, he wrote himself, the point was to preserve the Union and if he could do that and keep slavery he would have. His choice was like if his wife wants a divorce and he beats the hell out of her to make her stay. These days Quebec, Scotland and Crimea got to vote to stay or leave their unions.

Kennedy literally brought us the Cuban Missile Crisis. He put nukes in Turkey...right in Russia's face. Russia responded, aptly, by putting nukes in Cuba. How was the crisis resolved? Robert Kennedy had secret meetings with the Soviets where he agreed that the U.S. would pull back their missiles if the Soviets would pull back theirs. This is like setting fire to a building, coming back some minutes later with a hose, putting the fire out, and then being hailed a hero.

Both those presidents were totally preposterous people. Trump is a saint by comparison...so far.

Oof... some of my more embarrassing old posts are in this thread. Makes me want to puke seeing them again. (x.x)

I don't think your posts were that bad. You did make some good points and I do think the anti-Trump crowd (of which I am member) often goes a bit overboard and sees things that are not really there. Its kind of easy to mistake a man who simply does not give a damn about anyone but himself for a racist when he panders to bigots for political support. If he were trapped on a deserted island with a White man and a Black woman and there was only enough food for two people before help was set to arrive, he would toss the other two off a cliff with equal speed.

Mark of Zorro, have you ever met this fella, President Trump? Ever had a chat with him? Any phone calls or other such communications device where you and he could yak to each other?

Just wondering, that's all.

No offence intended but I never did understand why you made so much effort and produced such long arguments to defend someone who you'd probably dismiss as a lowlife if you met him without any preconceptions.

No. But I assume it was a rhetorical question.

Now my question. What is the point of your questions? Are you saying Trump and I are peas in a pod and should talk to each other only and not bother the world, or are you saying all the video I have seen of this clown is not enough and I actually need have two way communication to be able to gauge that clown?

Or was that just a die roll of an attempt at wit?

My assumption was that she was trying to be thorough about a man who cannot be summarily dismissed because he is the President of the United States as well as being rich and famous in his own right. The range between POTUS and lowlife on the street is about as vast as you can get.

Interesting, since Trump help get tariffs lowered here in Japan. And cheese is one of them. And we are not talking about only American cheese , but cheese from Europe . And for me, I love cheese on my pizza and yaki curry rice.

I urge you research the difference between real dairy cheese and the fake stuff which is generally what is found on a pizza and, well, anything. Just because it says "cheese" somewhere does not mean it is. Its the same with ice cream. Most of it ISN'T. Its chemical garbage combined with waste by-product.

But you say Trump helped get tariffs reduced. By how much? By what means?

I think now when it says cheese, it doesn't mean real cheese. Here they say natural cheese, but I believe it only has to a percentage of natural cheese and the rest as you say is garbage. I've notice that cheese does not melt like it use to years ago. Its more plastic and if you have left overs and heat it up , you'll tell the difference, like what is this ****.
Ice cream means ice flavored ice that is called cream, I agree with you. Up till recently it was called "ice milk" cream, now it is called flavored ice something like that, have to go downstairs and check the freezer. Does taste good though and our dog likes it too.
I'm glad we are on the same page when it comes to fake bs that we have to eat.

Mark of Zorro, I was just going on a view I have had of all sort of folks that we read about and don't really know except for what is placed before us by others. And, also, that I have had times over my past years to meet some folks that were being all written up about and found out that they were a whole bunch different than what I thought because what I 'thought' I knew about the individual was based completely on stuff fed to me by others.

Firstly, I figure that anyone that knows how to manipulate that money stuff in the quantities that President Trump has been doing in such a way as to not lose it all after a few years cannot be totally stupid. Just guessing on that one, true --- but there might be some truth in that guessing.

Secondly, I figure anyone that can actually get themselves that neat address that has that "White House" bit of language in the address cannot be totally stupid. But then how I define "stupid" probably needs some clarification.

So I was kind of thinking that unless someone can actually state they have spent time with another human they might have some trouble being completely sure their judgment of that individual is spot on, unless it is like that Hitler fella and others in his category of human that actually had a whole bunch of other humans killed for reasons that can easily be considered as seriously flawed.

By the way, Mark of Zorro, myself and a group of aviation folks on active duty actually met President Nixon when he came down to our unit to give us one heck of a blast of words (he was seriously pissed off) before he resigned from that job he had; and I realized after that encounter that maybe that President fella, who was our boss, was a real human type, just like anyone on my flight crew.

And I actually had the chance to have a few words directly with President Ford a few years later and had the same sort of feeling, that he really was a human type.

I just have this thing, Mark of Zorro, that if I haven't actually met an individual, I better be really careful making judgments about the individual. Very much like engaging in communications online, like in one of these Net Communities. For example, I have set aside the idea that you are always dressed in black.

I'm glad we are on the same page when it comes to fake bs that we have to eat.

Amen brother! Its good just to hear someone else say they too have a clue what is going on. I know my clues are not nearly enough. I get a new shock at least every year when it comes to food related issues. And to maintain my health I want to learn more, as much as my sensitivity wants me to bury my head in the sand!

Mark of Zorro, I was just going on a view I have had of all sort of folks that we read about and don't really know except for what is placed before us by others.

Thank you for the patience of your reply. I appreciate your sentiments about that, which were obviously won through experience. I also appreciate that any face I see of Trump is of course going to be a public face and not his real face. But, I have to point out that I have more information available about Trump than I do my own friends! I have more video, more audio, more pictures and more behind-the-scenes stories from more sources! Of course that comes with the need to sort fact from fiction, but I think I am reasonably good at that.

All the same though, I recently heard the claim that Trump cannot read, or at least, cannot read well. I have to admit, I cannot sort that one out. But then, when it comes to the illiterate, even their friends often don't really know so there is that.

How well do we really know anyone? Well, I think I know him enough or I know no one at all. That said, its the inner workings of the government itself that is the real black hole in my knowledge I feel. The inner workings of Trump seems like small potatoes compared to that.

Oh my goodness! You really nailed it with that last sentence!! Governments are very strange machines. They are sort of the modern dinosaur and ain't nobody can move a dinosaur that don't wanna be moved.

So folks, since the great experiment of making a bankrupt reality TV huckster the most powerful person on earth is just about over, what do you think? Did Trump ruin America's reputation and influence abroad?

I say no, but he and his posse certainly damaged it. I don't know that America will be considered a "special" country like it used to, unless it dramatically restructures itself in terms of equality, poverty, and let's throw in environmentalism just cuz. I think they'd have to be at the forefront of everything to repair their image.

The "America First" folk sure managed to drag the whole country down.

Damaged? Definitely. It's going to be a long time before America can claim the moral high ground and use democracy as a justification to intervene/interfere in the running of other countries. Ruined? Let's see how Biden does. Obama managed to restore a lot of America's international standing after it was trashed by Bush.
