Is this sloppy, or am I missing something?

I just spent some time going through and article from 中国新聞 -- 地震16時間後に燃料大半溶融 福島第1原発1号機 -- and there a sentence that strikes me as being a bit sloppy:

当初から可能性はあるとみていた。ただ、具体的なデータや、それを基にどのような分析を行ったのか、東電か ら聞いていないので詳細なコメントはできない。

This is a quote from 西山英彦. What I don't get is the connection between 具体的なデータ and それを基にどのような分析を行ったのか. There's that や, which would make me think that what's following is a noun, but that's not what follows. Shouldn't the next part be something like それを基にした研究で or それを基にした検証で or whatever? It feels like a few words have gone missing to me. Am I just missing something here?

The sentences sound fine to me.

東電から聞いていない → 何について?

「具体的なデータ」 や 「その具体的なデータを基にどのような分析を行ったのか」 について聞いていない

The phrase following や is nominalized, so functionally it is a noun.

Ah, OK. I see it now. I guess trying to get the reference of それ and parse it with the rest of the sentence in my head was too much for me to handle. Thanks!
