Is religion fear?

religion makes things easy for most people as no matter what happens you can always console yourself in the fact that there is a greater power out there which inturn gives you the idea that no matter how big you think your problems are there is a god or an allah etc. watching over you and a heaven to go to when you passaway its easy to accept religion as it can calm your fears.personally im an aethiest but i find that buddism is the only religion i could turn to due to the fact it is a peaceful way of life most religions seem to cause destruction and death plus it is used to control people.sorry if people find this offensive but hey thats freedom of speech.

in our religion "islam"
we believe there is a big force more than humain force
we belive there is a one god in the world
because if there a lot of god's like .... may be there will be a problems in the world
we know the move of electron around nayon is the same for earth around sun and that he can be just make from one god in islam we call it " allah"
and all real Muslim's respect other religion ... and for me im never cute my relation with other because here religion .
in the end i don't think we follow our religion because we feel fear ...

This sounds a lot like Christianity, believing in one god. I've also read somewhere before that "god" and "love" are the same thing as the energy that keeps electrons going around neurons and the planets going around the sun. This makes sense to me, somehow.

Dunno, the universe is very impersonal. An massive earthquake causes great devastation to us, yet the earthquake only occurred according to the laws of the universe. The universe neither wishes ill or good will.
Love as I'd define it is 'to wish for and actively work towards someone's happiness'. That would be altruism.

Religion is only fear because people are afraid of the unknown. Where do we go when we die? What is the meaning of life? People are scared of these questions and need religion to help them believe that there is something bigger than themselves that will one day reveal the big picture. We're afraid of our own ignorance and mortality.
Ultimately, though, I think it's the fear of being alone. Nobody has faith in humanity because we all see the evil being done and people don't want to believe that we are the only moral compass in the universe. People want to know they are being watched over and protected and that if they live good lives than all the suffering and hardships we face will all have been worth it because somebody is going to reward us in the end and take us to a better place.
If there is no god, no higher power, than all we have to believe in is us and I don't think many people have enough faith in humanity to feel good about that.
