Introduction

Hello,

Im still fairly new to Japan, got here right at the end of July. Just been hanging out and working.

I am looking to study japanese more and have come here in search of real tips. The people i have been working with keep telling me, "Get a japanese girlfriend." Which I dont object to in theory, however since im not good at meeting people, and my japanese is really basic it doesnt seem to work.

So, Hiya, and please point me to the best place to buy some self teaching books I already have learned how to speak spanish, and i have katakana hirigana and a few kanji down, just need to have some practical application.

I wasnt really meaning that i was in search of a girl friend actively... but thats what everone told me i should do to learn japanese, and i think thats wrong.
