Inscription on a sheath

I'm looking for help translating some characters written down the sheath of a small sword:

I'd be grateful for any help in what this says.

Top one says: Engraving on reverse side Karyaku 3, December
(note: Karyaku 3 corresponds to 1328)
Bottom one says: Bishu Osafune-ju Kagemitsu
Bishu is an old name of a province in Japan. Osafune is a city/region. Kagemitsu is the name of the sword smith.

Thanks, @Majestic! I'm not sure what to make of all that – perhaps it's a copy of a sword by Kagemitsu. Can't possibly be that old. I'm learning a lot about tanto (this style of sword) thanks to the names etc. you've translated. Much appreciated.

Why don't you start a new thread and post some pics of the tanto itself? Or, at least some pics of the tang, where the engravings are.
A picture of the thing is always better than a picture of the box it came in
