Drives me barmy, and I'm from the Midlands. Gets stronger the further west you go. Mild in Solihull, impenetrable in Wolverhampton or Cragley Heath. Sometimes refered to as Yam Yams or Yo yos.

Its never really gotten to me much, the English/British thing. Im English, but im quite happy to be labelled as part of Britain. European isnt somthing id call myself though. Im not keen on that.

As for the Scotland Vs England rivalry.... I havnt come across it yet! Ive been to Scotland a few times, some very nice places there.

Oh yeah, im a midlander Leicester doesnt really have a well known accent though, as far as I can tell. Scouse (liverpool) is by far the most comical English accent in my opinion hehe.

IMO, the ethnicity of most English people is Germanic (vs Celtic or Celto-Germanic in Ireland, Wales and the Scotltish Highlands), as it is a mix of Anglo-Saxon and Viking/Norman.

Yeah i'm not too sure why there's a difference between British and English, it's just generally how it's done over here.
On application forms i fill out nationality as British, and Ethnicity as Chinese, never have filled out a form as being English before. I'll ask one of my "English" friends and find out what he puts as ethnicity.

Have you ever visited Leicester? An actually report reckons that in about 3 or 4 years that English/white people will be a minority in Leicester.
