Well, I finally talked to a Japanese person today for the first time ever. She's a Junior exchange student from Japan, first name Yukina. This whole year, I've been...let's see...too "intimidated" to talk to her, until today.
I overheard Yukina and someone else (B窶堋ウ窶堙ア) talking about Japan, and B窶堋ウ窶堙ア said he was thinking about visiting there. I blurt out "Japan is a really cool place". B窶堋ウ窶堙ア said something like "Yeah...". Anyway, I asked Yukina ツ「窶堋?窶堙遺?堋ス窶堙坂?愿コ窶怒ツ人窶堙??堋キ窶堋ゥツ。ツ」(Are you Japanese?) Jeez, what a stupid thing to say... She said yes, and I said ツ「ナス窶樞?堙坂?愿コ窶怒ナ津ェ窶堋ェ窶堋キ窶堋ア窶堋オ窶堙ュ窶堋ゥ窶堙ィ窶堙懌?堋キツ。ツ」 (I understand a little Japanese.) She smiled and said "That's nice" but you could tell she was saying it like "...that's nice -_- ".
I chuckled, and looked at my MP3 player which I was holding at the time, and realized my hands were shaking like crazy. How odd. If that's culture shock, then I just got a huge dose of it. ☝
Did anyone else have any similar experiences?
