I Hate Tipping!!

i read somewhere,can't exactly remember the story, anyway, its something like
this guy went into a restaurant, the service was terrible,he had to pay $100, and he paid all $100 in pennies

I just don't think it should be the customers' responsibility to concearn him/herself with whether or not the server is making a decent living wage. Shouldn't that be the owners' responsibility? They're just passing the responsibility of paying these people a decent wage off to the customer.

But, think about how much crap the bartenders have to go through working in a bar. Someone might throw up on you, spill a beer all over you, try to grab you, or they might not even pay you for their drinks.
You can just make their night a little nicer by giving them a tip.

I like tipping at restaurants because your waitress brings the food right in front of you, you don't even have to walk!

In Japan, if you work at a bar you get paid much better, as well as $15~20/hour, and sometimes you get extra money form regular customers, so they don't need tips.

Yeah, but I go through a lot of crap at my work and no one tips me. And my paycheck sucks!

Hey, how about asking for a raise? I've done it before, and I actually got it a few times.

I once got really pissed at a hotel in Japan, they charged me over 2,500 yen for the service fee which they didn't give me anything. It was "Hotel Nikko" right next to Kansai International Airport; that hotel was so expensive as it was, and they charged me extra for something they didn't do.

And, just like airline travel, making sure that no two customers pay precisely the same amount for precisely the same product.

Not at all Misa. I was expecting MORE people to jump to the defense of tipping. Certainly most of my friends around here do. Hearing opposing views is how you get to know all sides of an issue.

The guy still ended up with a $100 dollar tip though. If you have bad service do not tip. It is so simple, yet some people have it so ingrained into them that they have to do it regardless of the service.
