Errr.. the title says it all really. Went to the local ward office yesterday afternoon and did all the paperwork. My wife is now looking forward to a lifetime of fielding the same questions on a daily basis about why she has a 'strange' surname.

Just thought some of you might want to know.

I have never heard of it, but if I get married to a Japanese woman, that's what I intend to do. If she's OK with that, of course!
