Whilst his way of doing his essay was a bit dubious, it did have the effect he wanted. Saying that he was writing an essay on the subject and then asking reactions on communism would cause an effect he wasn't looking for. This way he could observe actual reactions instead of a more subjective reaction. Any results this way have not been skewed by announcing what his intentions really were. At least he had the manners to admit what he was doing and put a stop to it before the thread degenerated into abuse and eventually locked.Duo said:btw if you wanted to know more about communism or what not, you could have just asked or started out with, hello im writing this esssay about cause and effect, how would you react, instead of triking some people here who put real effort and thought into answering to your post.

Where does the circled-A come from?
The circled-A is even more famous than the Black and Red-and-Black flags as an anarchist symbol (probably because it lends itself so well to graffiti). According to Peter Marshall the "circled-A" represents Proudhon's maxim "Anarchy is Order." [Demanding the Impossible p. 558] Peter Peterson also adds that the circle is "a symbol of unity and determination" which "lends support to the off-proclaimed idea of international anarchist solidarity." ["Flag, Torch, and Fist: The Symbols of Anarchism", Freedom, vol. 48, No. 11, pp. 8]
However, the origin of the "circled-A" as an anarchist symbol is less clear. Many think that it started in the 1970s punk movement, but it goes back to a much earlier period. According to Peter Marshall, "n 1964 a French group, Jeunesse Libertaire, gave new impetus to Proudhon's slogan 'Anarchy is Order' by creating the circled-A a symbol which quickly proliferated throughout the world." [Op. Cit., p. 445] This is not the earliest sighting of this symbol. On November 25 1956, at its foundation in Brussels, the Alliance Ouvriere Anarchiste (AOA) adopted this symbol. Going even further, a BBC documentary on the Spanish Civil War shows an anarchist militia member with a "circled-A" clearly on the back of his helmet. Other than this, there is little know about the "circled-A"s origin.
Today the circled-A is one of the most successful images in the whole field of political symbolising. Its "incredible simplicity and directness led [it] to become the accepted symbol of the restrengthened anarchist movement after the revolt of 1968" particularly as in many, if not most, of the world's languages the word for anarchy begins with the letter A. [Peter Peterson, Op. Cit., p. 8]

I don't see this happening at all. Can you give me some examples?

"suprize"
Where do you get all your content? Do you just google for it, or what? I'd appeciate it if you post the URL's to the websites you get it from. Thanks.
To further Mike's answer, the recent Supreme Court decision allowing the government of any state, city, or town to confiscate your PRIVATE property and house if they deem it necessary to increase tax revenue by building condos or factories. Of course they are supposed to pay you "fair market" value, but that is rarely the case.Baldir said:1. Abolition of private property

Brainwashed isn't the word I would use after reading it, fear is more accurate. You'll probably like it. I'm currently reading her book on Mao and so far it has revealed a few facts about his commitment to communism and the way he treated his 'Comrades'![]()

Also the police can confiscate your home, cars, property if they even think you are selling drugs. Also if you are found with a large amount of cash in your home or on your person in excess of $5,000 they can also confiscate your home and such as the thinking is that anyone with that amount of free cash that is not in a bank must be dealing in drugs. If you don't believe me check with your local laws and research these confiscations. Some innocent people are still trying to get their house back.
They are also mulling around a bill that will severely tax the inheritance of all property and businesses where the receiving parties will be forced to sell said property or business in order to pay the taxes.
Still think this is not happening at all right under your nose? By asking that question you epitomize the thinking of the majority of people in this country as they, like you, don't follow the laws close enough to even know it is happening somewhere everyday in every city. But ask the average Joe Blow in the US who is leading on American Idol and they will answer in a heartbeat. Ask them who is leading in the polls for the next election in their town or what bills are being considered for passage and they haven't a clue.

Duo said:going back to the issue of private property in the US, i really doubt if anything will happen so that private property in the US is taken away or reallocated or like given to gov control. Private property in the US is a sacred thing, and is one of the pillars that the country was built on.
I'm glad you are shocked by this. Yes, you do need to pay more attention and I'm glad you have learned something here. It's too bad the other 99% of Americans cannot see what is happening to their rights. Remember Thor, the government can now search you, your car, your home without even a search warrant anymore thanks to the Patriot Act. All they need is the belief that you are doing something wrong. That's all. Study a little about WWII history in Europe, especially Germany and you'll understand what is happening here. Hell, here in Nashville, TN they are encouraging citizens to rat out their neighbors for littering or to turn in car license numbers speeding on the highway. I wouldn't be surprised if they are asking kids in school to observe their parents and to turn them in. They are even encouraging kids to turn in their parents if they receive a spanking! Something really odd is going on in this country!Thor said:That's interesting, and I'm really shocked by this. I didn't hear anything about this decision, I need to really pay attention more. Thanks!
It used to be a sacred thing Duo, but the recent Supreme Court decision regarding "Eminent Domain" makes that moot. It doesn't matter anymore, if the city, state, or town wants your property to increase tax revenue you are out of luck.Duo said:going back to the issue of private property in the US, i really doubt if anything will happen so that private property in the US is taken away or reallocated or like given to gov control.
