How to makeﾂ 窶堋ｨﾅｽﾃｵﾅｽi/sushiﾂ？

I want to begin making Sushi at home because the first time I had it I loved it.

My goal is to become a good chef and though I may be an artist doing modeling in 3D Studio Max and ZBrush for game development, I love many art forms that are expressive and creative :3

Does anyone have information on getting ingredients, alternative methods or ways of making Sushi in Sacramento of California?

So far the process seems very concentrated and time-heavy, but I find it worth my time.

Any ideas, suggestions or ways I can make Sushi at home with local grocery stores?

My goal is to make the best Sushi I can, maybe later even work at a Sushi restaurant :3

EDIT: I too am an artist, though I put a lot of emphasis into visual arts, such as drawings paintings, ink stamps, etc (and the occasional digital grafix) and web designing.
