How terrible!Japanese~look and listen.

Hi, 4321go ! I saw the flash, but don't know what to think of it specifically because I don't speak the language. Could you maybe link a news article that tells what it's all about ?
I do understand that the people are angry at Japan, and that there must be a long-brewed rason to it, but I don't know what triggered the demonstrations. Would like to know.

btw: According to the poll in "What language do you speak ?", only about 5%, or roughly 1 out of 20, of the members speak Japanese as a native speaker or near-native speaker. That means there are probably a lot more people like me who'd like to know.

I think it is easy to understand the video ,the Chinese People feel the Japanese People isn't genuine,and unfriendly,It is the threaten of the Aisa peace(It grab the island which belongs to China,and extend it's army.).No one in China like the Japanese.The Japanese,one who,live in China now is in danger.May be the hooligan live in the city and town will attack them.But I will not let it happen~.But if the Japanese government still hurt the virtuous common Chinese People,unexpectable things will happen.
 
Which is more threatening to peace in Asia, I ask: Nuclear China and potentially North Korea or pacifist Japan? On one hand you have two countries with armies, one known to be nuclear, the other suspected. Not to mention N. Korea has fired missiles into the ocean over Japanese territory. On the other hand, you have Japan which has sat by, offered 2,000 MWatts of electricity to N. Korea, and has a constitution that forbades it from going on the offensive unless sanctioned by the UN....So I ask, who is more dangerous?

And you should know that Japan breach the UN constitution.

China did not invade Japan yet, yes you are correct. And yes Japan did invade China - but under different leaders and more than 60 years ago. Are you suggesting that the rulers of today are responsible for the actions of rulers of yesteryear? Perhaps they are responsible for repairing damaged relations, however there is no way they can be held responsible for the actions. Koizumi wasn't even born until 1942 - 7 years after the Manchurian Incident. In fact, most rulers were not born until after Japan invaded. They had no say in whether Japan was to invade or not. If you believe that what happened in the past under completely different rulers makes a country dangerous, then perhaps you should be worried about Mongolia. And which incidents do you consider Japan breaching the UN constitution?

Oh well, I was trying to avoid having to bring Tibet into this and cause further disagreement (and to keep the thread on one topic), but I guess it's out in the open now - the secret is out .
 
what can i say, one should think twice about his own baggage before going about moral justice and what not

Not the past thing cause the present situation,In fact ,China abnegate the reparations that Japan should pay after the war! Chinese people is virtuous,they didn't want to see the Japanese People suffer more pain after the war,and Japan and China establish diplomatic relations in 1970's.
The real reason is:the attitude of the present Japanese or Japan gov.,and the behavior of the Japanese people!

As the "breaching the UN constitution",Japan's military expenditure go beyond the limit~.It's Army size is too large than the limit~It even can garrison Iraq!

The same to your army invade your hometown! If you talk this Tibet topic to the Tibetanﾂ，I am sure you become bakemeat,because the Tibetan people will become angry~"how can you say our army invade our land!"

I don't know much history, but I was inspired by this thread and flying accusations that the Eight-Nation Alliance' 窶敖ｪﾅ｡ﾂ?窶氾ｼﾅ坦 sack of Beijing in 1899-1900 (yr ?) would be a good topic to discuss. Any ideas ? I found this in wikipedia, the Boxer Rebellion and its suppression.

But one thing to mention:8-nations' sack of Beijing in 1899 is the national humiliation.....
 
Peace does not come cheap, when there was aggression involved... needless to say.

I see; then it was (technically) a misunderstanding. The : MAD smile itself shouldn't mean that he thought you "insane" or that he meant to call you insulting names. It's just an emoticon saying he is perplexed... I think. As for the points between you two, I'll refrain from commenting. ;-)

I understand that, and apologise if it meant any insult to you; what I am aiming at is....

Has any of the 5 nations in Western Europe (Austria/Hungary, Great Britain, Frence, Germany, Italy), Russia, the US, and Japan ever given an official apology for their unlawful and aggressive entry into China ever ? Sorry if my question sounds ignorant, but I am ignorant about this.

Not that China would be asking for it; but it would seem appropriate and friendly from the European, American, Japanese parties in matters of diplomacy... and not to exclude genuine good will, either.

I would like to say; the things that the Alliance did to China before and after the 1900 incident were far from honorable. It would remain a shame for each country involved in the aggression. While it may be consoling and pacifying for the Chinese to receive the apology, it would actually be in the instrest of the aggressor nations to apologise. Why dig up old wounds ? Look at the flash linked in the original post; apologise, all who bear the guilt, maybe not personally, but by national identity.... And that is how I feel about the 8 nations with their armies in Beijing, 1900.

Do you think you're cool by saying Japan is good and China is bad? Do you even know 1 thing about Chinese history ? There is so much you don't know, simply because the government controls everything...Think about it

first off the smiley gives more the impression of confusion that's why I used it.
Secondly I didn't get the point about the home country invading the land. Are you yourself tibetian or do you consider tibet part of china ?

And btw, even if someone calls you mad today isn't much of a big deal. There are many more offensive things in the English language than mad
