Hello everyone...
My son married the nicest girl in the world and they now have a one year old daughter now.
She is adopted and we believe she is from the city of Aomori. She was adopted by a US military family in Misawa in 1983.
Her Japanese name is Akiko Toki. She was one of three adopted. She told me that one of her sisters was raped by the adopted father and he served 3 years in military prison for it. He told me he was setup. She feels like its hopeless to find her relatives and I think it will bring closure in her life. We have one picture of her at two years old siting with her mother. So it seems to me that the mother still had a connection to her. She has asked several times for her adoption paperwork but her family will not turn it over to her.
So I feel bad for her and want to try and see if I can track down any of her relatives.
For myself.... I worked in Sapporo for 4 years and it was awesome. My kids loved it and my wife loved Oki Doki and the #2 recycle shops also Book Off. CoCo Curry was our favor place to eat, some times 3 times a week. If I won the lottery I would move to Japan.
