I want to thank a friend for their assistance they gave me with my Japanese as they will be returning to Japan soon. I was thinking something along the lines of "いつも手伝ってを下されったありがとございます。" Thinking that "下されった" would be the correct tense or "下さい" in this sense, but for some reason it feels wrong to me. Can anyone give me some assistance on this please?
お手伝い下さり, お手伝い下さって, 手伝って下さり and 手伝って下さって are all correct, but I prefer いつもお手伝いいただきありがとうございました。 or いつも手伝っていただいてありがとうございました。. (The former sounds more polite.)
Seems like I was heading in the correct direction then, she is a 先輩 to me so I feel your more polite examples would be something I would say and show her the respect I mean. Thank you so much.
