Hello, need some native help on this parking sign in osaka
sorry for the blurry image (google maps). My understanding is that once I hit 1000 yen between 8am-midnight on weekdays, that will be the max charge that I pay regardless of the hours in that time period?

THANKS!!

Is there some special reason you only want native speakers to help you?

I'm native, I can help you. I believe your understanding is correct.

Max rate for week days is Y1000. Y300 every 15 minutes 8:00-24:00 and Y100 every hour between 24:00 and 8:00.
If I'm reading the small print correctly it says
最大料金は繰り返し適用されます
Note, the counter resets at midnight. So if you park at noon on a weekday and leave at 1am for example your fee would be Y1,100.

thank you so much! this answered my questions exactly.

You're welcome. Come back and let me know if I'm wrong. 😁

I've got to work on my Japanese more. I can't spot any of the hidden meanings and see nothing but a simple bunch of parking fees.

I'm more mystified by why a guy in America needs a detailed translation of a fee sign in Osaka....

What is written there is <24:00以降は料金加算されます>, thus, it explains the counter resets at midnight. 最大料金は繰り返し適用されます is written only in their site, not on the sign.

Haha, just trying to confirm if my suspicion for that sign is correct, since its almost too good to be true. 1000 yen for the entire duration between 8am-midnight, when its 300 yen per 15 minutes? You can see why I questioned my own understanding. Just staying in osaka-kyoto region for a few months this year, have disabled family members, driving is unavoidable unfortunately.

"Between 8am-midnight" is applied to "300 yen per 15 minutes". 1,000 yen is the max charge per day (当日1日最大料金) on weekdays. Thus, it's OK you just pay 1,000 yen for one hour parking or even for 24 hours(0:00~0:00) parking on a weekday.

Will wheelchair accessibility be a factor? These coin parking places aren't very wheelchair-friendly.
