Hello! I'm back to my favourite Japanese forum!
Today, I need help with a translation from an anime. The actual part I need help translating is only around 20 seconds long, but I posted around a minute more to help you understand the circumstance.
Here's the video (link to Photobucket): help-1.mp4 video by Kingstripes - Photobucket

Alright, so pretty much, there's a girl called Jasmine, who is jealous because Neridah (the one in the dress) is wanting to marry her lover(kind of). So then, Neridah plans a few traps for Jasmine to get rid of her. At one point during the video, the arrow above the sign changed which veered her off in another direction. However, the people she hired took the wrong girl.

Or, at least, that's what I understood... Anyway, what I need help with, is translating the last part in the video. You don't have to post the Japanese if you don't want to, all I'm wanting to gather is the English translation so I can understand it better. All I really understood was "街" and "娘" and a couple of others... But, anyway, thanks if you can kindly help! Thanks again 📣

Are you asking us to translate the whole conversation in the lodge?

:mad:Strange... Part of my question got deleted.

No I didn't mean for you to translate it all :giggle:. In my original comment (which I lost), I gave my translation. All I really need is for you to help me with it. I also forgot to cut the video off near the end, I don't actually need all of that translated:unsure:... Anyway, here's my guess (sorry, I'm a beginner).

Neridah - You guys are mistaken/wrong. (or something like that)
Two Kidnappers (here's what I hear) - 俺たちはボスのいたとりひだりの道にしとりでいて娘お さらたんだぞ。(The part that's highlighted is the part I think that's wrong). I added kanji for the words I knew, however, the rest is in hiragana. I don't really know what they're talking about... something about given orders from their boss to turn a left on the road. From my poor translation, I'm guessing that it relates to the part I showed at the start of the video.
:)

Neridah - ひだりてどちむていお? I know the highlighted part is wrong, but I can't hear her very well... Only thing I know I got right was the "left" part...:(
Two Kidnappers - 街にむかてしたりだろう。 The city thing relates to a city they entered earlier in the episode... however, I can't get the middle part... It may be pretty obvious, but my speakers are pretty bad right now because my good ones broke.

Neridah - 街を背にしてひだりよ!From what I heard, this one may be correct, however I can't be sure. My translation skills aren't very good, but I'm guessing it's something like "I was at the left of the city" or something like that... Not too sure.

Well, that's all I really needed help with! Sorry for the misunderstanding and for my terrible Japanese... I'm learning more about translating things now... I've only learned hiragana, katakana and a few kanji, so I'm going to start with the actual sentence compositions now. Anyway, you don't have to correct my Japanese, all I really want to know is roughly what it means in English, as I'm a bit confused. I think I posted the wrong .doc that I wrote before I went on the forum, so sorry about that. Anyway, thanks if you're able to help, if not, I don't really mind! Thanks again!

k: 俺[おれ]たちはボスの言[い]ったとおり左[ひだり]の道にひとりでいた娘をさらったんだぞ
k: We kidnapped a girl being alone on the left road, just as our boss had ordered us.

N: 左って、どっちを向[む]いてよ
N: The left,,, which direction were you facing?

k: 街に向かって左だろ
k: The left, facing toward the city, of course.

N: 街を背にして左よ!
N: The left, your back against the city!

Thus, the cause of their confusion is the interpritation of "the left road"; the girl meant "the left road, standing with your back against the city", whereas the kidnappers interpreted it as the opposite direction.
