Hello everyone! I wanted to introduce myself before I start jumping in on the fun.
My name is Nancy and I'm a 42 years old accountant. My father met my mother in Japan while he was stationed in the Army. He brought her back to the United States and they've been together ever since.
On Christmas, my parents and I were discussing her family. Her ancestor was Honda, Tadakatsu (Honda being his last name). The legend is -- he was a brilliant samurai, albeit mean. I started to search for some information on him and my roots.
I visited Japan when I was 12 and met many family members. I was too young to appreciate the beautiful culture and people. I've been wanting to get in touch with my family without my mother knowing. I would love to surprise her one day by having some of her family visit the US.
Anyways, as I was looking up information on Beppu (my mother's hometown) and stubbled onto this forum.
This forum and the people, seem very interesting and I'm looking forward to interacting with you.
