Every time I turn on the TV, the Japanese are winning Olympic medals -- mostly the same ones -- over and over again. But this is Japan, where repetition is highly prized as a way to impress upon us the vital importance of repetition. Practice, practice, practice and you will succeed.
Although I would never call myself a great athlete, I particularly enjoy the Olympics because, having competed throughout childhood in a variety of sports, I can identify with the pressure and stress that goes with competition. At 27, I was still competing -- as a "veteran" -- in freestyle skiing. But the great thing about a sport such as skiing is that you can take it with you all the way through life. I've been skiing with my parents since I was 3 years old, and I still ski with my father, who is 73. I have fond memories of the whole family packing into the station wagon and driving all day to the mountains on family ski vacations, stopping every hour or so for the kids to visit the toilet.

I'm trying to understand why you like to post links to news articles and quotes from them, while never adding your own opinions or comments. If you hope to generate a discussion from them, it would really help to get the discussion started if you would include your own thoughts.

Hahahahhaaa.... I noticed this, too... please stop posting stuff like this. It's not really interesting to me and as you can see... probably not interesting to anyone else 'cause they never post replies to them (unless they're like ours, rofl)

Thank you! Come again!

Post count! up up up and away!

Shouldnt it be in the news area anyway? I tried this including my comments and it got moved straight away :(

I was going to say that, but my completely kind nature prevented me from it. Heh. It does wonders for his post count, you don't get 1,221 posts while still having one green reputation square by posting meaningful topics! Heh.

I don't see the point of this either... I think all his posts like this should be moved to the ChitChat section so he can't use it to increase his post count. As he doesn't post comments or whatever, it obviously serves no other purpose.

THE POSTS IN THE CHIT CHAT SECTION DONT ADD UP TO UR TOTAL AMOUNT ? 😲 😲 :bikkuri: :auch: :

OMG, all that effort i put in that section, :( : 😭 😭 😭

1st encounter with the bad news produces a dull, numbing strike on the head.

Opportunity cost pops up as permanent loss-- engages with sense of loss, first superficial, then progressively deepening.
Why did no one tell me?  :box: :auch: :auch:
The blaming begins to ease the pain by scaping the goat.
I see how it is!!! I'll show you!! :kaioken: 🔫 :danger: 🔫 :danger: 🔥
The rath will consume you; o, the blood shed !
What is goin to happen :?
Post-massacre emptiness syndrome -- profound sadness felt at the lost post counts, lost labor, and lost lives-- Q: Can I be happy again, ever ?

I know this might have been a genuine trauma for you; I hope you have recovered by now. I liked the soft touch at the end; why is it that your pain can be the cause of uncontrollable laughter ? Sorry to say; this really made my day, Duo.
Hammer throwing is a great sport, even greater than skiing. 👍
Perhaps Hachico likes to be objective by keeping a low profile ? Couldn't an article without a comment offer more possiblities by letting the reader think whatever (s)he feels like ? Or couldn't a sense of undetermined thoughts and emotions be expressed by silence ?
