Hey all,

Actually, I've been posting here for a little over a month already (mostly in the Learning Japanese forum), but I thought I should take the time to properly introduce myself.

I'm a graduate student at a university here in the States, studying Japanese language and literature and also working as a teaching assistant for undergrad Japanese language courses. After I finish my master's degree, I'm looking forward to going over to Japan to work for at least a few years, and reuniting with my fiancee in the process. :)

I have various Japan-related interests, but I especially like reading novels (Haruki Murakami and Yasutaka Tsutsui are two of my favorite authors), listening to music (my favorite group is Spitz, but I listen to almost everything really), watching Japanese TV shows of all sorts (Ainori and Tantei Knight Scoop are two of my favorites) and, well, various other things too.

Well, I'm not that terribly exciting of a person, so I'll spare you any further details. At any rate, this seems like a really great community of Japan enthusiasts here, and I'm looking forward to talking more with all of you!

Well, it feels kind of strange doing this after interacting with you for the little over a month that you've been here, but welcome to the fora, jt! Enjoy your stay! 🙂🎈

Enjoy the entire forum, jt ! 🙂 I was also a huge fan of Japanese literature before starting on the language....since then there hasn't been enough time, unfortunately. Although working through a bilingual edition of Daizai's "Setting Sun" at the moment I suppose is a promising sign that these two loves may *someday, somehow* become better integrated. :p

well..um... greetings jaytee!

this does feel odd after having seen you around so much O_o

GREETINGS AND WELCOME!!

Keep posting here!

A big shout from Denmark! 🎈

It's a very good thing to have more people much more proficient than me with Japanese here on the forums (a very easy thing to be). I look forward to taking advantage of your knowledge in the days to come. :D

Great !!

Nice to have an interlectual blood transfusion from you to the Forum!
Welcome!

Frank
