Gran Turismo 4 any good?

Hi!

My bf has Gran Turismo 3 a-spec, and he wants the "sequel." However, is it worth buying? I am not a racing- game fan as I think that when I have played one Gran Turismo game, I have also played the sequal, as they seem all alike?

Any ideas/opinions?

GT4 is indeed worth purchasing imho. With over 50+ tracks, some 650 odd cars to purchase/unlock, and multiple game modes (some new), your bf could easily lose himself in this game for hours on end (not sure if that's a good thing from your perspective, heh ). Bottom line is he won't be dissapointed.

How good is it?

I bought it for my old man when it first came out. He's a huge racing buff, and loved all of the others in the series. Guess what? He loved GT4 so much he actually bought a steering wheel to play it with. That's right folks, a 56 year old man sitting in his living room with a little toy steering wheel.



He loves it but I think it bugs my mother.

It kept me busy for about a month, and got about 99.3% before I stopped. I think it's a bit harder than the 3rd, because of the driving missions and the tons of dirt/snow races you'd have to do. But it does really test your skills in the game, and if you're a car nut, get it.

Then it is settled: I will buy it for my bf! (I am not going to buy a steering wheel yet though)

Man GT4 is easy,i already beat mine when ever somebody wanna race me jus hope online an hit ^bunta

I played GT4 in stores, and it is really great!
Only I have the idea everything goes so slow, I mean, ur car displays it drives it's maximum speed but I did not get this adrenaline feeling out of it when racing like I have in other games, offcourse it depends on how you set ur point of view,
since I always race from cockpit view...

But it is really great, worth a buy!

The game is bought!!!

Thanks guys for your feedback. My bf is OBSESSED with it - he plays it all the time. He is playing after work non-stop, and I can get some privacy, which I am thankful of since I get to be more active at JRef... He has already won many cars - and especially a "nike"-car which I didn't know existed....it looks like one of a pair of "nike"-trainers....

The Nike car doesn't exist in real life. It's just made up.

Ah, a great game indeed. Though, there is something missing that really ruins the fun...that is, just 1 Cadillac!! If only they had included a Cadillac XLR as well... that would be so much greater
