Hello Everyone!
I am new here. Started learning Japanese on my own for 4 months ... Know about 300 Kanji with different Jukugo ... Also started Genki 1 and I just finished chapter 5. yaay lol

Now my question:
日曜日は忙しいです = I am busy on Sunday
Why did we use は in this example? shouldn't we use に for days of the week and other time references?

Welcome to the forum!

は is also valid and is de-emphasized in comparison to に. The point of the sentence is to show that you are *busy* on Sunday, not that you are busy on *Sunday*.

Unlike verbs such like 日曜日に洗濯します or 日曜日に図書館に行きます, 日曜日に忙しいです sounds awkward.
