Hello there again guys,
I've been practicing my japanese comprehension lately by reading mangas, right now I'm focusing in the (classic) Captain Tsubasa.
Last night I got into a sentence whose meaning i managed to get with some ease, but as a matter of improving my comprehension over its grammar as a whole, I got stuck in the following expression.
1-"本当に奇跡だったわ、車にはねられた瞬間も。。。どうろ にたたきつけられたときも"
2-"サッカーボールがクッションがわりになってかすりきず一つつくらなかったんだから、翼は"
These sentences refer to the previous fact that Tsubasa was hit by a car
I'm stuck in the bolded part , "wari ni natte", right now I comprehend that "wari ni" expresses something unexpected, but, by adding "naru(te form)" after it, I can (in a sloppy way) comprehend the sentence, but not in a satisfactory way.
My sloppy translation of the second sentence( suggestions and corrections are welcome):
"Because of the ball's cushion, tsubasa managed to not get a single scratch"
The "wari ni natte" for me surely doesnt get its way into the translation because I guess its meant to add surprise or the feeling that no one expected such a "miracle" because of a mere cushion, am I right? wrong? Any help is hugely appreciated~
