Got My Cherry Popped Today !!

I watched my very first anime DVD movie, SPIRITED AWAY. But I have never seen a DVD movie that made you download a special program to play it.
When it started with a thing about downloading a program, I by-passed it , thinking it was to play a game or something. But, it wouldn't let me watch the movie till I downloaded it.Is this common with anime movies? Maybe it's a Walt Disny thing, but I never saw the download deal before?

Bootleging is good. Ya Know Mp.3s are illegal, so bootlegging cant be that bad.

I have all of the Disney movies and this was a first with that. My PC has a high-res LCD 19 inch screen and great surround sound. The home theater system has 3 remotes and a zillion bottons to push just to watch a movie, the PC is easier.
When I finished the movie, I erased the download they forced on me, it had spyware stuff in it.

@ Frank, Nice Avatar. Where do you find these animated ones. I wish t oget a few to use.

I just type in "animated gif" and hundred of sites are listed for free ones. The big problem is, they are mostly too big to use on our Forum. I searched around and found a free download program by ULEAD that shrinks them so easy, it's great. When my 15 day free trial ran out, I ordered it from ULEAD to keep using. You have to be careful though, some sites download virus's with the gif. I load them to a seperate file and run them through my anti-virus program before I work on them or use them now. I'll watch for your avatar to change in the future, good luck.

Hey, Does anyone watch the Aniem called Cowboy Bebop, I happen to enjoy it. I also watch Inuyasha, sometimes, but know it seems to repeat itself, way to much. Any good anime, left out there. Ive seen the one called Ghost in the Shell, Stand alone Complex. I think its okay.

Wow , I'm Inpressed !!!

Lucked out and found a used copy of "GHOST IN THE SHELL 2" yesterday.
I just finished watching it and I was real inpressed. It was very close to Pixar films in quality with a story line way above. I'll admit, a lot of the dialogue was over my head; too much for this old man to figure out. This is only my second anime I've seen and it helped me understand why people fall in love with the stuff! I guess now I'll have to find part one to understand part 2 better. Maybe I'm on my way to being an anime junkie?

I own the Disney Version of Spirited Away (supremely excellent movie), and I never had to download and install something. Strange.

I never had any problem seeing Spirted Away or any other DVD I have got. Mind you most of mine are Region 2 not region 1. Saying that I have never had it with any of the region 1 DVDs. Glad you enjoyed the film. There are plenty of other good anime films to watch. Be warned, though, you can become an addict

I saw that movie (Mononoke) the week it was released in Japan in the late '90s. I think it went on to become the highest-grossing animated film of all-time up until that point. Quite splendid to behold on the big screen actually. I still listen to the soundtrack on occasion.
