Giving Blood in Japan: How to do it, and what can you expect?
I thought I would post this here to give those who were curious a bit of an idea what giving blood in Japan is like. I tried to copy the main video link on the page, but keep getting a malformed ID notification when I past it in.
Pretty much, it may seem like a relatively daunting and confusing experience, but it is more straight-forward than it first appears. The only real difficulty is the electronic donation program that you must go through which are in Japanese, but you can view the rules online in English, and they are quite helpful in the clinic and willing to assist you through the process if you run into difficulty. Once you do finish the processes once, you are given a card that allows you quicker entrance next time to donate blood.
If you qualify I highly encourage you to give donating a chance, even if just for the experience of donating once in your life. Knowing you are providing direct support to someone in a time of need can be a wonderful feeling.
