Bob Denver passed away yesterday at 70 losing his battle against cancer. Many of us laughed at how corny the script was as much as at the show. I'm sure we will enjoy the re-runs for years to come. It was one of the first of the "survivor" shows.

Sad to hear that Frank.
When someone famous who you really admire dies it can be really sad.

I was gutted when Peter Cook died.

I am dreading the day Patrick Moore leaves us for his trip to the stars.
'The Sky At Night' is the longest running programme on BBC TV and it wouldn't be the same without him.

I admire Patrick Moore too. He does a lot of good work bringing science to the 'masses'. I was sad when Stephen Jay Gould died, especially as he was quite young, only about 60. And Douglas Adams, he was young too.

I couldn't help but think that probably a far greater percentage of Americans could have readily identified Bob Denver as "the guy who played Gilligan" than could have identified Rehnquist as the former Chief Justice of SCOTUS.

It's a sad day - Denver seemed a very nice fellow too. I didn't know Douglas Adams died, too bad. When Jim Varney died I was also very sad. He was much too young...

Yeah, a darn shame about Bob Denver. I'm not ashamed to say I loved watching those old reruns of Gilliagn's Island each and every day. Definitely one of the best comedies ever to grace the small screen. Rest in peace, little buddy.
