Eye for an Eye

It is only when I begin to speak Japanese as a non-Asian or show an invested interest in Asian culture, in general that I am asked if I am "mixed". Truth is, my eyes tend to be rather "slanted" for a non-Asian person. Sometimes, my eyes go unnoticed until the aforementioned happens. Other times, people simply notice and then pose the Asian-relation question.

Sometimes, genuine curiousity is intertwined with traditional influence/ignorance.

honestly I have wondered if Asian people can "see as much" as people with wider-opening eyes. I mean seriously! (if you have larger eyes) narrow your eyelids similar to where some of the narrower Asian eyelids are. You actually lose a portion of your upper and lower vision.

I don't think we "see" with whole our eyeballs... we "see" things = light coming in through the pupil (black part in the center of the eye).
If the eyelids cover the pupil, that is not normal, whether you're Asian or not.

You should see some Chinese and their needlework-handicrafts. . . they are even superior to ours. We would not be able to achieve this, particularly not for longer and professionally

FTR I have no issues with my eye size. I was merely stating a comment made about my eyes, that if one person could think seriously that such a idea is true then it has to stem from some assumed information from other people. Not too sure how one can take away from this thread they the me the OP and other posters are concerned with our looks.
