First impressions on Kyo from dir en grey

It's very easy to get Deg's songs on your computer. I have all of them, in fact. I did it like this:

I bought the cds. Why don't you, cheapskate? Then you can just rip them.

If you haven't notised... I LIVE IN CANADA! *sigh*

I'm not cheap either. I just don't see the point when you can download them for free then delete them after your done. Now, if I could buy them at any damn CD store I would but sadly this is Canada and I don't live near Toronto or anything. 3 hours away and I don't go very often so I have to make do with what I have. I could go on Ebay but I don't wanna bug the hell out of my parents and ask them to get me something.

I'm not trying to be a dink about it it's just it's Canada. We have nothing like that here really.

I can't buy them at any cd store. I regularly order online from places like CDJapan, paying $15-20 for shipping, just so I can get these cds with the music I like. I call it cheap when you download it and then don't care enough about the artists to buy their cds. "I loooooove Dir en grey/Gackt/Mana/Hyde!" Well, you obviously don't love them too much.

What a cheap ***. :|

Who the hell do you think you are to say something like that. You don't know me so shut up. I don't have to buy their products to prove that I love them. Even you should know that. Sorry not all of us are suckers and get brain washed into buying this stuff. Plus, you know how much money it costs to make a damn CD? F**k buying them. I will download their music for free and enjoy the same way I would a normal CD. It all sounds the same anyways. Nothing is wrong with downloading music instead of going through the trouble of looking and buying their product.

Reminder: I don't have to buy their product to prove I am a fan or I love them.

I'll go if I can get permission to go up to San Francisco when the time comes. I've got everything figured out price-wise(About $1k), but the twin specters of PERMISSION and PARENTS loom. I would really love to see them. Perhaps they'll come again to PMX at the end of next year. Living and breathing PLC for two days was heaven. Rather unlikely, though... they'll probably be deeply on tour in Sep. of next year.

And Nightwalker, just remember: If you truly like someone or something, you'll support it. And not just by paying lip service. Deg was once indies, and if no one bought their stuff they put out back then they wouldn't be where they are now. Regardless of how much it costs to literally make a cd, it costs money for staff(producer, sound tech, mixers, etc.), instruments, renting a recording studio, etc., etc. There are many, MANY costs for making an album.

No need to make excuses for yourself, there isn't really one good enough in this case. Bands get dumped from labels when they lack sales. Then, surprise surprise, your love isn't going to pay for what they need to create more music.

I don't really think they care if we buy them or not. They are making theor billions over there so why does it matter. I live in Canada. I can downlad music for free if I want. It only costs 1 dollar to make a CD and they charge you 20 bucks. What's the damn point. I would buy their CD's if I could walk into any CD store and get it without having a damn hard time looking for them and going through the trouble of getting it. I don't want to wait forever I just wanna go out and get it any time I want but I know it doesn't work that way. Meh.

Paying for the priviledge to hear their music. The tunes they wrote. That takes work, you know? It takes months of work to compose and record an album, getting it just right. What's wrong with rewarding their effort by not stealing it, respecting it enough to pay for it? Hmmmm?

Oh, wait. Never mind.

You said it already - it takes some effort on your part to not steal it, to obtain it legally.

First of all, it's not illegal here in Canada to download it so...-blows raspberry-

And second of all, it's quite difficult for us. You see, both of us live a very, very, very long way from any big city like Toronto which sells them and that would only waste, like, $60 in gas...And then there is the entire thing involving our parents. I know Nightwalker's allowed to buy stuff over the internet from time to time, but some of us aren't allowed to do that.

Even though it's wrong to steal their music, just because we do doesn't mean we're not fans. Hell, as soon as I get a job and a credit card, I'm as sure as f**k going to buy them, but for now, we can't nessisarily do that. Unfortunately...

And that's why I normally just stick to videos. It makes me feel just slightly less guilty...

And shut up about the "cheapskate" thing. Jeez!

there's a lot of J-CDs in anime stores of China town in toronto, maybe you can try some anime stores or conventions if you want CDs. but personally i am way poor, so ya i download a lot. it's not really called cheap, it's more like some people just aren't as fortunate...
