We are a few hours into the beginning of the end of 2010. This year, as the year before it, has been wrought with fear, good times, and feelings of regret. For me, it has been rather unpleasant, yet some good overshadows what has emotionally brought me down. I lost touch with a very dear friend this year. I filed charges against my older brother for assaulting my father, little brother, and I. No job was found as I had wanted at the beginning of the year, despite my best efforts. This forum became, for me, a festering wound, a clear example of the years not being kind to something important to you. Yet, here I am, rambling about the year. The sad fact of my life is that my memory is terribly good. I remember so much, and it's not easy to deal with when you have so many regrets. I've lost friends with it being no fault of mine. My family bickers and moans, and my life is not what I wanted in high school.
So, to all of you, I say this. Go into 2011 with no regrets of the previous year. Make your resolutions, stick true to them, and enjoy yourselves. Contribute to your community, help a friend in need, and be there when your family needs you. Be a better person. I believe new year's day is not just an ending, but a new dawn for us all. And we will have to ask ourselves this come the 31st of December 2011, "Did I do good? Did I make a difference? What could I do that I did not in 2011?".
