English is a second language in USA !!

As I know native Americans speak English and I thought it's the first or mother language .
but I heard that the American English is a second language and that is because of the societies. Every society has a mother tongue ( Western Indian, Africans, Europeans and maybe Arabians, Chinese and other societies).

According to these different communications in societies, they use the English as a native or ceremonial language in Unites States of America ....

Is that right ? ☝

For most Americans, English is our primary or mother language. But in many Native American communities, English is indeed a second language.

In my own state, Alaska, many Natives grow up learning English as a second language. In villages and towns in the southeast part of the state, the Natives may speak Tlingit or Haida in their homes. Athabascan may be spoken in the interior, Aleut among the Aleutian Islands, and Yupik and Inupiat in the Eskimo villages along the western and northern coasts.

Alaska's population is now mostly white people of European descent, who speak English. About ten years ago, Alaskan voters exercised their xenophobia by passing an English-only law that required government communications and meetings to be conducted in English. Several Native villages filed lawsuits, because they were accustomed to holding town meetings in their own languages. Alaska's courts found the law to be unconstitutional, so the Natives continue to exercise their right to speak their own language.
