roman letters will be abandoned around 2012, as europeans/americans have become a minority compared to china/india.

millions of books have been rendered unreadable, and must undergo revision.

however, the japanese government was generous to include most of the english words into japanese. mouse becomes mousu, rat becomes ratto.

together with roman letters, the complicated grammatic rules have also been abandoned. everything americans have learned is now wrong.

because of the worthful and important cultural heritage of america (see MTV), the roman letters must be conservated for ever.

this is not difficult, as it is a relatively primitive writing system.
it provides communication which seems to be exact, but indeed sometimes there is no understanding, words and concepts of thought are used wrong.

some of the more important cultural work of the 20th century undergoes translation and revision right now.

to change the school systems, from romanji to caracters, in europe and america, would not be able in 2012, so it wont be abondoned so fast, i do believe something like this will happen in the future, but this will take at least around 30-60 years.

to chang from abc to 窶堋?ツ 窶堋「ツ 窶堋、ツ 窶堋ヲツ 窶堋ィツ ツ(HIRAGANA)ツ ニ但ツ ニ辰ツ ニ脱ツ ニ竪ツ ニ棚 ツ(KATAKANA)
not to talk about kanji yet.... ( if it would change to japanese, how ever change to chinese, so we will get the kanji caracters) would not just change school, but also photograpic memorie of western people should be higher, and thats not something that people learn so fast....

i hope i understand this thread good, if not and im talking bullshit,, im sorry its my english then..

keep dreaming. english is the most common language on the internet, and we live in the internet age.

well you will never know ,,, its true that there are more people in the world who use caracters then romanji... or im i wrong...?

but yeah, we will see... typing romanji is sure a lot easyer then using caracters,,, and using the space and enter all the time....

Technically, any language that uses symbols representing syllables instead of individual letters would be more primitive, from a linguistic point of view.

this debate is rendered pointless by the fact the roman alphabet is just as characterised as east asian writing.

there isnt actually a B in the world, the letter simply reprisent the idea of a B
a vertical line with two curves attached to its right side by the ends of the curve.

an X is just two diagonal lines stuck on each other.

you might think "what?" but i think especially for native speakers of english, or roman alphabet using languages, you probably totaly ignore the fact that roman letters are just as much characters as a chinese character, or japanese character, o tai or indian or whatever.

look at arabic, god knows i dont know what the hell that is it just looks a long squiggle to me, but to arabs it makes sense, so much sense they wouldnt even stop to considor that its actually a squiggle or character.

also its better to try and april fool someone you know personally, its much easier to pull the prank off.

you mean it really fooled you?

roman letters may indeed become a subset of kanji.

english can be exact if talking about a narrow technical topic.

common language often says exactly nothing, just a heap of sentences.

not to say all the useless negative, criticising talking, the fancy words.

:? :? :? :? :? :? :?

sorry is this a translation of the Quote you have... or is this beginning of a boxing fight??? 😌

canny:
Careful and shrewd, especially where one's own interests are concerned.
showing self-interest and shrewdness in dealing with others; "a cagey lawyer"; "too clever to be sound"

to be honest, i do not figure right now what "uncanny" may mean:

another translation gets "it is enormous"

my paper dictionary says: tremendous

Extremely large in amount, extent, or degree; enormous: a tremendous task. See Synonyms at enormous.

Informal. Marvelous; wonderful: had a tremendous time at the theater last night.

Capable of making one tremble; terrible.

:? :? :? probably a little bit of all these things.

I was refering to the sounds as represented by the characters, not the characters themselves. Thanks, though.

I want my children to speak asian languages. Instead of this english dribble.

would the americans be so generous to allow japanese as a subset of english?

and to respect japanese customs?

or would they assign gender to all the things like it is usual in europe/america?

WRONG
japanese will allow a lot of american words to continiue their existence.

RIGHT (there is not future tense) 🙂
japanese integrates american words.
like mentioned, mousu, ratto, rasuberi, ... (it is mausu)

Isn't mouse "Nezumi"?

Eh, I understand words like "Takshii" and "Duresu" have no good Japanese substitutes, but that's because they were introduced to the Japanese by foreigners.

As for MAOSU and RATTO, iuno where you heard those from...

the thread is about:

lots of ニ筑ニ脱ニ湛 and ニ停?ーニ鍛ニ暖 are to arrive soon.
english grammar is abandoned.

i am sorry. it is mausu/ratto. NOT mousu and NOT maosu.
and what stands "du" for (in duresu)?
