The username's actually a joke based on an old email of mine, just for the record.

So, uh, I'm new here. I'm hoping to sharpen my skills a bit with you guys, maybe meet and talk to some actual Japan natives. Well, regardless of race/ethnicity, I look forward to posting, here. Hopefully some good things will come from this.

Note that I'm still pretty new to this, so walls of hiragana/katakana/kanji won't mean much to me--yet.

I'm American, if you hadn't already guessed. I do yoga, write horror fiction, and go to community college during the school semester, and work pretty easy summer jobs. I really like books. When I get proficient I'd like to get my hands on some japanese novels.

Anyway, I guess that's about all. It's evening here, so as they say (in romaji) KO-N-BA-N-WA.

From the hear of Japan, where the grand peaks of the Japan Alps kiss the sky, bowing not even before the gates of heaven themselves, where even now, I still wear a sweater in the daytime, I send you my greetingsf and a big WELCOME to JREF !!

As we share time on line, I hope to hear more from you, and thus hope you spend time with us and get to know us and share and learn with all of us here. There are many interesting discussions going on here and there, and so I look forward to your joining in. Of course there is an area for learning more Japanese too, and so that'll surely be helpful to you.

I am not into horror much at all, however, once felt like writing a short horror essay on the 'horror of eating natto!' (hee, hee, hee....)

See you 'round ! MM

I can definitely sympathize with your... dislike for Natto.

I hope to enjoy lots of interesting discussions with all of you, too.

Edit:

I also wanted to ask: do they do yoga in Japan? Something similar?
