Editing your own posts?

Why is it that I can edit my own posts in some places but not others?

Example Do you speak Japanese?

I have two posts on this thread, one I want to edit, the last one, but there is no edit message button.

Yet on any number of other threads the edit button was there. I know I am not dreaming things. Anyone have an answer.

I've had the same thing happen to me! Does anyone know why this is happening?

Might have something to do with a time limit. If I remember correctly you can edit one of your own posts within 24 hours of posting it. After 24 hours you do not have this option.

yup theres a time limit for editing your own posts
