Does she like me or am I imagining it?

You're right, it wasn't a priority message or anything that demanded a response immediately. I could see her being busy as she was with family this weekend.

She has not seen me beardless yet, we have class tomorrow so she will see me then.

You're overthinking all of this. There are many possible explanations for her lack of response that are more likely than she's "spooked." She may have simply forgotten to respond. Or she wanted to give a more thoughtful response and didn't get around to it yet, or it it slipped her mind. I do that all the time. Granted I'm an old forgetful man but still not everybody in your generation is tied to their phones. Your text wasn't of an urgent nature, why would you expect an immediate response? Especially since you see her in class regularly. She may have thought she could talk about this with you in person.

Did she see your beardless face yet?
So here is a large update. A few days ago we went to Shibuya to go bowling and some other activities with her friend. I figured inviting her friend would make her a little more comfortable around me. So the three of us went to a little cafe upon arriving and then walked around a bit. That's when we went to the bowling center and bowled for a few hours, which was fun. After bowling we went to dinner and then they took me to a little sweets shop that they liked. It was around this time that I asked her if she liked me with a beard or without, to which she replied that she liked the beard more.

Once we were done at the sweets shop, we got on the train home. Upon arriving at our stop we all got off and her friend split ways with us. So it was just the two of us walking home together. We reached my place first but I opted to walk her to her home first, which wasn't the first time that I walked her home. While walking we had a lot of good laughs and stuff, I did want to hold her hand but didn't know if right then was the best time (as of right now though, I'm punching myself because I should have just went for it). Once we arrived at her house she said that she wanted to walk around a bit more with me, so we did and I was really happy that she wanted to spend more time with me.

I'm still unsure of when to actually ask her if she wants to officially date. Maybe I should ask once we have a 1 on 1 date.

Fantastic. There's definitely interest otherwise she wouldn't want to keep walking with you after she arrived home. Tell her you'll grow back the beard asap.
Instead asking for an official date maybe try asking her to do something that is date-like where it's more natural for a two-person outing. Like go see some of the holiday illumination displays around town. Or you could just ask for a 二人で "date."

I'm not surprised about that, since if she really found your beard dirty, she probably wouldn't want to spend so much time with you 😅 I was going to predict that she was more used to you as you appeared before shaving because that's how she's seen you the entire time you've known each other, and sudden, more drastic changes can be more shocking (as opposed to meeting her for the first time clean shaven and growing the beard as the days went by)

Funnily enough, this thread reminds me of an experience I had with a Japanese girl I hung out with a couple times, and the info in here is insightful for the things that occurred throughout the time we were friends, maybe I'll make a journal of that story 🤔

Nervous first hand-holding

Find a place where you can sit next to her, like in a coffee shop or at a park. Start a conversation. Talk for a couple of minutes. Say something about when you were happy or excited, then take her hand as if it is a reaction to what you said. Hold her hand softly and do not squeeze it. Hold her hand for a while but not too long. Later, when you walk out the door, take her hand again.

When you walk her home, give her a hug when you say goodbye, but don't kiss her. (The effect of a simple hug is HUGE.) The third time you walk her home, hug her, lift her slightly off the ground, and spin her in a single 360.

These gentle physical contacts mean more than anything you can say.

Do all of this several times before saying anything about officially dating. To do otherwise is a mistake.

If you ever have a chance, watch Michael Jackson's video Thriller, watch how he asks the girl to be his girl way too early, and how it doesn't go well. (See if you can spot all the reasons it doesn't go well.)

Not to spoil it but one big reason is because he wasn't honest with her. In other words, if you're a werewolf you should probably be up front about that and not hide your true nature.🐺 ;)

I want to thank all of you guys for the very insightful advice.

I'm overthinking this part again, I know. We did a small little get together with a few of her friends and one of mine and went to a karaoke place (it was my first time doing something like this that wasn't in my shower or my car back home). We had a lot of fun singing, I sang some country songs and she sang some Disney songs. One of which was a song from Tangled (the part where they sing the love song on the boat) and her friend passed me the mic when it was guys turn to sing. She was so good at singing that I felt like I did bad when we sang together lol.

I want to take her to lunch soon so I think that might be a good place to start holding hands and then give her a hug when I drop her off at home. I think after that, a movie date might be an option for me since we both like to watch movies. So that gives another option for holding hands and maybe after the movie ask her to be exclusive.

I am also going to grow out my beard again like some of you suggested since she liked it.
