Does anybody know how to do this? Everytime I input something (even with a japanese/korean font being used) it comes out as ?????? instead of what i wrote. Look:

you have to install the asian languages...font's wont do you any good!! 😌

Start -> Configuration panel -> Regional & Language options -> 2nd TAB LANGUAGES click install files for east asian languages and you'll need your Windows XP cd for that...reboot and try again..it should work :-)

Yeah of course I did that already, you can use the IME without that behind installed already.

Anything else??

I read that you can't use Japanese on AIM. To do so, you'll have to download the Japanese version of AIM, which supposedly can't be installed on a non-Japanese Windows OS. AIM isn't really popular in Japan (hence, America Online), so I think they didn't really work much on getting such things to work. You'd be better off using MSN Messenger or Yahoo! Messenger. Those are used worldwide and the language supports is large also.

Yup.. Keiichi is right....it didn't work with me either..got all kind of Strange sings..and my computer is 1/2 Japanese :p

You can use AiM and japanese text on the PC. You have to use a messenger program called Gaim. 🙂

Pidgin

I use it when im chatting with Mac in japanese on my PC.

*MSN owns you, either start using it, or get trampled by angry MSN fans.. I hate AIM..
(*Note: Just Kidding, But MSN still owns you)

:)

Standard AIM

The standard AIM interface does not use unicode as the transmission means. Too bad for them, Been AOL and AIM free for 3 years. Ditch AOL & AIM move on with your life, you wint miss them.
