Hello,

First post here, but I thought readers of this forum would be interested in this news...

Sony Music Japan has started an "International Audition" because they want to sign non-Japanese artists who wish to become stars in Japan. It is the first time a Japanese label ever does something like that. Perhaps the last time too...

They are looking for models, musicians, bands, TV talents. Anyone inside or outside from Japan can try their luck. There are no charge to participate. Deadline is may 31st so hurry.

Hmm... sounds interesting.
But why... I am confused why they would want other nationalities though?

Haa - interesting actually... Wonder who will be the next star in Japan? :? But.. I think Japan should stick with japanese visual kei jrockers; the japanese guys look best when dressed up like that.. But models, pop singers and actors might be good..?

a band from my country and some other countries including some one from japan if im correct
called The Spirit That Guides Us,is being distrubuted in japan by Soul Fighting Music
but i think they really deserve it to become big in japan

I still don't understand. I think anyone other then Asians would look ridiculous in Japanese fashion. Same for bands... it would not be the same. They have different vocals not to mention language. Seems silly... even if it is an appealing offer.

The funny things is the night before this thread was posted I had a dream I was a drummer in a jrock band

There are "plenty" of non-Japanese in Japanese show business. Apparently, Sony wants to play that card so I guess they will try to do it well...

it's sounds a bit weird too me tough....
to send an audition like this.
do foreign bands really need an audition like this too become big in japan?

but did anyone her about the people who are joining in?
and is it a kind of idols thingie?

I've never touched a drumset in my life.

I play other intruments though: bass, electric, and acoustic guitar, and the folk harp... haha yea I play harp.
