Do Japanese people hate Chinese people?

There's a plethora of related threads here on the forum. Perhaps you care to enlighten us on why you are asking this question.

There are some Japanese people who hate Chinese people, some who love them, and probably most don't have much of an opinion either way. The same could probably be said for any people of any nation regarding any people of any other nation.

Point is, you can't generalize stuff like that and you are just trolling to get a rise.

I think that Guan Yu thinks back to Chinese-Japanese war in early 20th century. Many chinese people were killed by a hand of japanese soldiers. I know that problem in russian-german relation. Many russian young people does not know the history, or still in their minds back in that time. So they are trolling germans or german-likers and insulting them. Well, do indians hate the "white" americans? Do the aborigines of the Australia hate the "white" australians? Do the lost side of some nation still hate the winner nation?

I'm Chinese and I am thinking about going to Japan this summer and just wanted to know whether or not that I will be barraged with insults just cause I'm Chinese.

I'm not trolling I'm just wondering if I am going to be made fun of when I go to Japan.

Chinese has been always No.2 among the tourists to Japan from all over the world.
In 2011, we had
No.1 : 1.658mil people from Korea
No.2 : 1.044mil people from China
No.3 : 0.994mil people from Taiwan
No.4 : 0.566mil people from the US
No.5 : 0.365mil people from Hong Kong

The above stats are based on nationality, not ethnic group, yet it is obvious that Chinese people enjoy visiting Japan as tourists.
They would not choose Japan as a holiday destination year after year if they are "barraged with insults just cause I'm Chinese". (*shrug & sigh*)

Thanks man. Now I'm feeling better cause now I know that I'm safe.

You won't have any problems dude. There are tons of Chinese people in Japan. And even if somebody doesn't like you, generally Japanese people are way to polite to make a public scene, or give you are hard time. Are there haters? Of course. But chances are you will not have an encounter with them.

Would you be wearing a big sign that reads "I AM CHINESE!" on your back? I hope it doesn't sound bad or anything but I certainly can't tell the difference between a Chinese, Japanese, Korean, etc... unless they speak their language. In which case I might be able to tell if they're Japanese lol.

Edit: I fail at typing.

same here... I think that for european or caucasian people it is very difficult, nearly impossible to tell the difference in asian people. The question is - do the asian people can tell the difference between europeans? :-D

Perhaps the OP's question arises from the great government-sponsored animosity in China towards Japan. My answer is that it is not reciprocated.
