I don't mind the clothes, but Toshiya's hair irks me.Oh well. As long as they're happy I guess. They could have at least kept up the really sweet outfits!! LOL
We all have different opinions, that's what makes the world fun and interesting!!
sometimes , i miss the old days too. i bring out my Gauze copy once and in while ;their earlier music got me into them, and i'm not saying they're bad now. it's just me that who don't like too much screaming. also, i guses i like Vulgar too much to hope that they'll do something similar instead of what they're doing now?Dir en grey is better than ever.
Don't get me wrong, I like songs off of each album. It's just that I'd rather listen to "Grief" or the new version of "Clever Sleazoid" than anything off of Gauze.

I'm training to be a hairdresser and all I want to do is kidnap Toshiya and teach him how to use those rollers properly.
God DAMN Tochi, seriously. You always used to have such nice hair.

I went to a Dir en Grey concert this past monday, and I will admit, I didnt know what to expect.
I thought it wouldnt be as exciting as if they had their old look.
But I was wrong. It was amazing. And without all those distracting things to look at, I could really concentrate on listening to the music.
I think they are great, no matter how they choose to perform.
Yeah, I miss the happiness!! And spunk!!It's not that I don't like their music, but I kinda miss the old days
Now their like blah im old and this sux.
in my view Vulgar was one of their most complete album. many styles, but they were all well done. you got headbangers like shoukubeni/the IIID empire, u got a climpse of anger in R to the core, u got "ballad" in kazumi, amber... i like at least 90% of the songs in vulgar. and without too much screaming, songs actually seemed like songs. and they had more emotions in the songs back then, with so much screaming now, i'm not sure what they wanna express other than anger.Ugh, Vulgar was a great album!!! I don't mind the screaming, but when you've listened to their old and really original music, their new music doesn't sound as original (at least in my opinion).
lol thats hilarious.
I think they're just more serious now.
Yeah. It's kinda hard to imagine Kyo smiling when singing a song like Lie Buried with a Vengeance. I mean, the last line is "F***! F***! F***! F***! F***! F***! YOU'RE A MOTHERF***ER!"
Not exactly Garden or Jessica, you know?
I mean their personalities while they are playing. They don't seem as happy to be doing what they are anymore, they hardly smile on stage now and what not.I don't know why some you are saying its because of the music why they are all serious now. Their music has always been dark lyrically. Now its just taking on a heavier instrumental tone along with their lyrics.
Exactly I mean back in the days sure the music was not heavy instrumentally speaking but the lyrics were still dark yet they still managed to crack a smile and have fun.I mean their personalities while they are playing. The only person who's on-stage personality is the same is Shinya. Shinya has the same "I don't know why I am here or where the hell I am" look on his face that he has had since La:Sadies.
When I spoke to some one during the concert I said it was kinda cool that a band lasted so long with all the original members and he said they really do not have a choice because of their contract.
So who knows but I believe its not the music thats making them serious its something else.
You can try if you want. ^^;; But they'll most likely take your camera and hold it until after the show...
And they'll probably threaten to kick you out if you try to take a picture with your phone. :x
At the La show last year they searched everyone to make sure they didn't have anything like that.
They're actually not allowed to do that. And they'll probably threaten to kick you out if you try to take a picture with your phone. :x
