def in Japan: a comic diary

Arrested Development is very funny and clever, you still pick up new things on the third viewing ..... but a lot of it is almost impossible to translate into Japanese.
Another brilliant series I loved was Parks and Recreation.
 
The new story starts here. Why haven't I posted in so long? Because I've been going up against the Japanese school board for the last few months. My adventures with the school board, city council, national unions and more! are the subject of my new story.

 
Oh man! You're in the middle of that Sapporo/Interac/Nova clusterflick aren't you? I will be reading this latest storyline with much interest.

"That is between you and your company." cold, cold. A sharp reminder that this is indeed the primary service a dispatch company provides their client BOE, liability insurance. The school district ends up no more responsible for the ALTs working there than they are for the plumber contracted to fix the toilets.
 
Thank you Thomas! I'm currently in a good place, otherwise I wouldn't be able to take the time to write this. But there is a lot left.

@marley'sghost, yes it is very cold! I still can't believe it! Some of my rage comes out in this page. Normally I just don't get angry, but in this case...
 
This is a page where I expect some will call me a ******, but Canada's government is generally pretty good and responsible. I have pretty much always valued government because of this... Then I came to Japan.

 
Keeping it going! I've decided to post in narrative blocks rather than by page.





 



Funny story about that last panel... Teachers meetings used to have a fair amount of sports talk for some reason. Once, someone said Usain Bolt, and I asked who that was. They asked, Really? And before I could answer, someone else chimed in that I was being sarcastic. Nope, I'd never heard of him. As if I've watched an Olympic game in this century much less cared who was in it.
 
I had to look up Usain Bolt on Google. And glad to hear Canadians are Socialist.
 
Not all Canadians are socialists. Just the ones who appreciate how good things are. There are an angry little minority that want American style stupidity. That said...



 
Getting burnt out on the long story, need to do something a little smaller.
