Could you translate please?

Could someone translate this for me? A street artist did this for my granddaughter in Okinawa . She had a very difficult time telling us what it meant.

It is a poem, too difficult for my wife to translate well. It begins with "day of tears...day of smile" or something like that.

I gave it a try, but poetry isn't really my thing and of course it's not a 100% literal translation (such a translation would not sound good at any rate).
