Could you check these Japanese-English Translations?

These sentences are taken from a grammar book I am using to study. It doesn't have the English translations available, so I took a stab at translating them myself. There were a couple I was unsure of. I want to make sure they are correct before I get them too ingrained in my memory banks. Would anyone be able to check them for me and let me know if I've translated them ok, or if you have a better translation? Thank you very much in advance!

本当の幸せとは何だろうか。幸せとはお金で得られるものだろうか。
What is true happiness? I wonder if happiness is something that can be obtained with money./Is happiness something that can be bought with money?

きのうの試合では審判の判定をめぐって、何度も選手が争う場面があった。
There were countless protests from the players over the referee's decisions at yesterday's game.

スポーツ選手というものは、子供たちに夢を与えなければ行けない。
A sports player is someone who must help children realize their dreams.


同じ動物でも、人間は犬や猫といった動物とは区別される。
Even though they're the same species, humans make distinctions between certain animals such as cats and dogs.

結果は5年とか10年とか、そういった短期間に出るものではなく、もっと長期的に考えなくてはいけない。
The results won't show in something like 5 or 10 years. We need to think about the long-term.

Looks ok except for #4. It is not even close if I may be honest with you. #4 is saying that humans should be distinguished from such animals as cats and dogs. It is in the passive voice form with 人間 as the subject.
Structure of #4: 人間 are 区別される from 犬や猫といった動物.
The others are ok as English translation as long as you are aware that you left words like 場面 and 短期間 untranslated. As a Japanese-speaker, however, I do know for sure that 夢を与える does not really mean "help someone realize his dream". It means more like "let someone remain hopeful" or "give someone a dream" if direct TL is needed.

Thank you so much. That helps a lot. I knew there was something weird and wrong with number 4, but I couldn't figure it out. That makes sense now. I'll be careful of that damned passive voice in future.

As for the missing words, yeah, I was kind of translating more roughly rather than making it a direct translation. I wanted it to sound like more natural English. I didn't notice that I missed 短期間 though, I think I can rope that into the sentence translation.

Thanks also for the 夢を与える explanation. That translation works much better for this sentence. I was thinking it sounded odd. I'll go make alterations to my flashcard deck now. Thanks so much for your help!
